Many times people confuse hunger with simple thirst, and then even end up drinking the wrong thing. Avoid regular sodas, switching to diet soft drinks instead, or even better, switch to water. Also eating a salad or healthy soup before a meal can help you avoid eating too much.

Eating too much is a common problem for many people. Slowing down till you feel full and stopping is the best choice. Also eating small meals throughout the day can help boost your metabolism. Switching out some foods for healthier alternatives and exercise will go a long way too.

Stress can cause a lot of people to eat without thinking as well, so don’t give in. Try channeling the stress through exercise instead, and you will accomplish even more. Don’t deny your cravings though, just be sure to focus on getting proteins instead of fats while eating small amounts of food you love.

Lots of people think this means switching to flavorless foods, but adding spices to your food can be very satisfying and help you to not eat as much. Fresh vegetables taste better than out of season ones, and pre-made meals can taste great also.

Lastly, cutting down on starches like bread and pasta and switching them out for vegetables can go a long way as well. Of course there are lots more to it all than just this, and there is a great deal of options to try. You are your own biggest enemy in your battle against the bulge, and maintaining a positive outlook towards the many wonderful options out there is the first step.
